Membership

Membership is drawn from all indigenes of Efik, Efut and Qua clans resident in Delta State, Nigeria. Husbands and Wives who are not from Efik, Efut and Qua are members by marriage.

 

Becoming a Member

Becoming a member is automatic as far as you are Efik, Efut and Qua and resident in Delta State, Nigeria. Distance membership is also welcome. Presently, some of our members are in Canada. We are always looking out for members to join the Association. And so we are calling out to all Efik, Efut and Qua indigenes, most especially those resident in Delta State and where ever you may be in Nigeria and the world over. And for those of you Efik, Efut and Qua indigenes abroad, no matter how few you may be, we are calling on you to form an ESOP in which ever country you may be in the world o join us. And do not hesitate to contact us for support if you happen to form one. We need your support as well as you need our. In other words we need each other to move the Efik Nation forward. Members must be able to dedicate enough time to participate and make a difference in the ESOP.

 

How can you Join 

To join you need to visit the ESOP on the day of their meeting, introduce yourself and collect and complete an membership application form. Your will be required to pay registration fee and membership dues as the case may be. Please contact us for more information.

 

Benefit of Joining

The Aims and Objectives and benefits of the ESOP are well spelt out in the ESOP's Constitution which is given to members as they join. Some of the benefits spelt out in the constitution of the ESOP, to mention but a few are a shown below:

           

1.         Birth of a New born Baby

A member or wife of a member who puts to bed a new born baby shall be visited by the ESOP and shall be entitled to some financial donation. 

 

2.         Bereavement of a Parent or an immediate relation of a member.

In event of death occurring as stated above, the ESOP shall make some specified financial donation and participate and support the bereaved member to ensure the funeral was a success.

 

3.         Death of Member

In event of death of a member, the ESOP shall make some specified financial donation and participate and support the bereaved family to ensure the funeral was a success.

 

4.         Assistance to Member

The ESOP Shall give financial assistance to members in need or in distress: either a loan or outright cash gift. However, each application will be treated on its merit by the Executive Committee.

 

5.         ESOP Education Award

The ESOP will award Education Scholarship to deserving children of members.

 

Apart from the above, there are several benefits to becoming a member of the ESOP, and this becomes apparent as soon as you are a member. Our members are very close friends and we have a great time when we get together. Of course we also have a common interest, and we hope to further our cause.
